Best way to occasionally hire a PA?
I need a PA about 1-2 times a month. Since its not a full time position, its tough to find people sometimes. Suggestions?

our area has a "freelancers helping freelancers" Facebook page. Seems to have quite a few PAs on it. Might work for your area as well.

You can also call on the local video producers in your area. Some are keen on helping each other out at an affordable rate or for reciprocal service. They might also have used PA's in the past and can pass along their names.
If there are film-making meetups in your area, try to attend and get to know the people who are looking for experience. |

A little late to the party...
Post on the bulletin boards at UC Davis’ Dept. of Cinema and Digital Arts? Or, network there to find out who is going out as PAs, grips, CAs, shooters, etc.
