mixed footage

I was hired as a DP to shoot a documentary. During production the assistant
director would always grab a minidv camera and record his own personal
view. He was later hired to edit the documentary and he made extensive use
of the material he recorded. Much of it out of focus, poorly framed over exposed material. The director liked it however. I am now concerned about
people thinking that I shot the bad parts of the doc as well. I am in no position to negotiate the removal of the bad footage. Any thought on that?
