distributing HD programs to tv stations
Has anyone had any recent involvement in distributing HD programs to tv stations?
My questions are: 1) What format did you give it to them in? 2) what did you give it to them on? Blu-ray disc? hard-drive? Thumb drive? I have a 30 minute HD program that will be distributed across the state - and I'd like to pick the most common delivery method and ask everyone to accept it. I'd prefer not to pay for a satellite feed. 3) are most stations able to download programs off the internet? 4) Do most stations have the ability to store HD programs in their servers? I know a few years ago I checked and many stations didn't have a way to record HD programs - they could only "pass thru" a HD program from their network satellite out their transmitter in real time. thanks |

Re: distributing HD programs to tv stations
Every station will have their own delivery standards.
Some may still want on beta SP. Some will insist on HDCam SR. Many will be happy to use a service like DG Fastchannel. Bottom line, they will tell you what they want. If you don't deliver what they ask for, they may not accept it. |
