Achieving film look in post

if someone could just clarify something for me it would be greatly appreciated. you can shoot on regular minidv cameras, that don't have 24p, and then achieve the film look in post production using software like magic bullet?

how is this done? is it a lengthy process?

any info would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

This question, give or take, was just answered again in a thread a few posts away from this one. Take a look here

And if you want to know about film look plug-ins, they are not "magic bullets" despite what the name might indicate. It has far more to do with shooting style and quality of lighting than with colour correction and flat blacks.

Do a search for film look on the forum here.
