30p or 60p? For converting to 24p
Ok going to shoot some stuff with my HV20 in 24p. I just picked up neoscene for that.
The problem is I am going to have some in-car and on-bike scenes using a POV camera. It does either 1080p 30p or 720 60p, I wish it did 60i, but it doesn't. So which one would be better for converting to 24p, 30p or 60p? Also how do I do this, and/or what software do I need to do this? Thanks |

sorry no one got back to you on this... did you already try it out? If you haven't. Do 60p and not 30p. you can either drop the 60p footage in the 24p timeline and it will match up well, or you can slow it down for slow motion. 30p can as well, but it will be juddery and have a skipping motion in it. If you did shoot 30p and can't reshoot you can do a 30p project, then export the footage as a 24p footage and put the retiming on Best or Max. Expect HUGE render times.. Like hours of render times for minutes of footage to get anything good, but you CAN do it either way. just a LOT FASTER and easier with 60p. Anyway, after you got the retimed or 60p to 24p footage exported, reimport in your main project that is all 24p/f. Hope that helps.

The HV20 does 24p or 60i, both at 1080. It doesn't do any form of 30p, 60p or 720. The HV30 added 30p, but still at 1080. No compact Canon HDV tape does any form of 720.
