Blocking/line of action question for moving around the outside of a house.
Hello,
I am preparing to shoot a scene with two characters moving through some woods essentially from right to left in the frame to go 'toward' a house, the line of action along their path. Once at the house, they are up on a hill and look down on it. Assume North at the top. http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/attachme...1&d=1252956175 (I don't know yet how to make the picture show up to see it, but the link should work.) I am attempting to capture the idea of them moving around the house with one going to one side, one to the other. They plant their devices on two different sides of the house and I am not sure how to block for this http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/attachme...1&d=1252956175 To make it more difficult, I do not want an area of the house filmed, it is the dotted section of the path for the above picture. How would one block for this to clearly show its the back of the house? I'm sure this is old news to those that know, but that is why I am asking. Jump the line of action and make an establishing shot on the back of the house, then use MS's and CU's? It seems confusing to me to have people running right to left to get to their target, then left to right once they get there for the most important part. I will test it with my 5 and 7 year old daughters, but I wanted to ask to see what people thought who had seen this sort of thing. Any thoughts are welcome, again, assume the top of the picture is North if referencing thanks, Jer |
