Need advice on color correction

We just did a test cam using a Sony EX-3 a few days ago. The director asked me to do some color correction on the image. He wanted to look like a very dirty, densely populated urban slum. Any idea what I should do to attain such a look?

The image on the left looks washed out, so I'll probably fixed that. But one on the right looks pretty good, I don't know what to do with it.

I'm not a fan of heavy-handed color correction, but these shots definitely need some more contrast. If you want a grittier look, you can crush the blacks a little, amp up the saturation, increase the contrast with curves, and possibly shift the color towards greens or browns.

The greens! Thanks for pointing that out. I tried to shift it toward more brown but the image seems to flat. I'll see how it looks on the other shots.
