I don't think that anyone here has mentioned SonicFire, which is a Mac/Windows application which works with special royalty-free music tracks. I bought it a while back thinking that I probably wouldn't use much since I do some composing myself, but it's come in very useful on two documentaries that I'm working on. Reporting of music is not required, and the tracks are a $20 download (or $10 each if you buy a CD). A very flexible system. It certainly doesn't have very conceivable kind of music, but it has a very wide range.

Disclaimer: I have no connection with SonicFire, shares in the company, etc.etc.
