Production fee
Hello.
I would like to ask how others charge for production. Let's say you are doing a footage delivery job where you hire a camera op, a sound tech and a gaffer and some equipment. You have costs for transports and food, maybe a hard drive. Maybe even hotel and flights. Etc. Etc. Sometimes you as producer are on the shoot, in other cases maybe not, you just coordinate/produce. If you are coordinating and delivering a production at small or medium size, how to you go about charging for the production as such (on top of all the individual items)? Supposing you are hiring independent crew people who already have their dayrates. I just would like to hear how others do to get some input. |

Re: Production fee
Most of the production companies I work with add a 10-15% "production fee" to any larger project that requires multiple crews/logistics/locations.
