California Postproduction equipment tax break
This may be old new to you. I first used this 3 years ago.
Postproduction Service Equipment Sales Tax Exemption The State of California provides a 5 percent sales tax exemption on the purchase or lease of postproduction equipment for qualified persons. Officially, it's called Teleproduction or Other Postproduction Service Equipment Sales Tax Exemption (Regulation 1532) and it provides a 5 percent exemption from state sales and use tax to those who qualify under this provision. To find out if you're eligible, please visit the California Board of Equalization's website and obtain a copy of Regulation 1532 and the Special Notice concerning the decrease of the state's sales and tax rate (2001). www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/reg1532.pdf If you have further questions on whether you qualify or how to utilize this tax benefit, please contact your tax preparer, tax lawyer or the California Board of Equalization Information Center at 1.800.400.7115.
