recommend a video hosting and more importantly video selling website
Can anyone recommend a site to use to host and sell video clips. I know smugmug provide a nice service.
Just wondering is there cheaper / better I don't know about. It must have shopping cart and options etc. |

Re: recommend a video hosting and more importantly video selling website
You can also use Shopify with the Fetch digital delivery plug-in. I use it to sell merch as well as digital downloads, though in my case it's mostly PDF's but there's no reason it couldnt work with movie files. You can then use Vimeo Pro service to hose preview videos embedded in the store. Not as cut and dry as Smugmug, but infinitely flexible.
Here's my setup: MediaSpigot Official Store — Welcome I've sold hundreds of digital downloads in the past year without a single hiccup. I don't sell videos with this site only because each of my video sites offer direct memberships that provide access to both bonus features as well as download access on a per-season basis. I find that works way better than straight purchases for digital movie downloads. I also needed the shopify store because I have other items that are sold as both digital downloads as well as physical versions of similar products (in this case, magazines), something the shopify store does really well. Thought the same setup could work great for DVDs and movie downloads, for example. But membership format sites don't handle this as well. |
