Co writing through the internet

I've been finding quite a few people who are looking to co write screen plays through the internet and I'm very interested in doing this. However, I am a bit wary of writing a full feature length with a complete stranger who lives hundreds of miles away from me, putting alot of hard work into it, and then getting involved in some crazy legal battle if either A) The other person takes it and sells it without informing or paying me, or B) Gives me permission to shoot it, but later claims that I didn't have permission, or C) if as in music production where one copyright holder can legally 'give away' use of the intellectual property without permission of the second copyright holder.

Does anyone have any advice on how to structure an agreement between two writers which would protect both of their interest in the project before the script is even started?
