Music Video License Agreement: Any good resources?
Hello,
For an upcoming episode of my show, I am interested in running two videos in conjunction with an interview and performance footage from an artist that I'm friendly with. I've been in touch with him and his manager but they have not really been on top of responding to me about business matters since the initial footage was shot. I contacted his label directly and they said they would be happy to help and would need licences for the recording, composition and videos. From what I've read online this would consist of two license agreements: a mechanical license and a synchronization license. I would rather avoid any further email ping-pongs if possible and try to give as much information as possible up front. In this situation should I be supplying license agreements to be signed? Or is it typically the label which handles such things? If it's up to me, does anyone know a good source that I could copy and adapt a video license agreement from? The only things I've found online have been for sale or involve way too much legalese. Thanks for your help as usual, Konstantin

The contract bundle on this site might have what you need. Good luck |

Thankfully, the label got back to me & are drawing up the contracts themselves. I appreciate the link. Could come in handy for the future.
