Where can I find grants to fund documentary work?
Hello,
My wife and I have a part-time video company (corporate videos mostly) and also a non-profit organization (appropriate water solutions for rural communities in developing countries) where we create videos. We really like doing documentaries and are interested in finding grants to do more documentary work in the states and also internationally. Does anyone have some good advice and/or sources where we can apply for grants to make documentaries? We realize it is a competitive and difficult to receive grants. We know this from our non-profit work however we are willing to give it a try. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Simon |

Dan,
There is almost certainly a library of resources in Baltimore and DC. Here in Los Angeles, we have a foundation that maintains a database that helps non-profits locate appropriate grants. Perhaps if you call them, they can direct you to a similar entity in your part of the country. Center for Nonprofit Management What most of the foundations are going to be interested in seeing is a highly experienced producer on board, preferably with vast PBS credits. |
