Using Video Game Footage

Question for the masses:

I am being hired to produce a sort of marketing/review video for a HD gaming projector. The idea is to make about a 90 second spot that shows the projector, shows some people using the projector, and then hearing what they have to say about it.

Naturally, a projector will only look good if it's displaying some content. I'm not worried about the video content, as I can use some of my own, I just don't know what to do for the gaming content.

The projector is aimed primarily at college-aged/young adults using it for entertainment purposes, so powerpoint isn't really a relevant factor here - just movies/games.

What are my options? Here's what I've considered, comments more than welcome:

-I could ask for permission from a game-making company
-I could blur the image on the projector slightly
-I could use selective focus w/ a 30mm F1.4 lens.
-I could find some open source content or independent content to display as a video

others?

I would look for a popular game developer forum and post a description of what you're looking for: a first person shooter, side scroller, racing, etc. Tell them you just need something that looks good for a few seconds - does not even need to be playable. Ask for someone to give permission to feature their game in your video. You'll probably have several offers. When you choose one, be a sport and give them some cash, even if it's only $50.

Great idea, I appreciate the input. I emailed Microsoft about a few titles, we'll see where that goes.
