Band expo show..legal question

We are about to start producing a show which will focus on local musicians.
Each show will focus on one particular musician or a group.
What legal papers do I need for this scenario?

Also, in case we wanted to sell a DVD of lets say all the shows in our first season, what additional legal papers would I need to get?

Would we need to pay the synch and mechanical rights or should I encompass everything in one production contract?

Thanks in advance for your help.

We basically produce the same type of show, we have all the rights we need released before we start the shoot. Including, synch, mechanical, broadcast, distribution of the video and also web based viewing. All music is original, all bands are unsigned, or signed to an indie label where they control the copyright, and they certify they are the sole holder of intterest in the songs...

Thanks Bud. Did you have a lawyer draft the forms or were you able to find them online? Also, with all the releases, do you still have to pay the artist royalties in case you sell DVD of the show or do you have it drafted in such a way that you owe them nothing in terms of royalties.

Thanks

We have them license the rights to us that we will need , including distribution, in any medium now known or yet to be discovered , in perpetuity. The license is only for the actual video with the synched music. We cannot distribute just their music. We also provide them with copies of their videos, and license our rights in the distribution of the video to them. This is included in the overall release we have the bands sign which includes model relesase wording covering their image, voice and performance.
