To be completely self serving, and hopefully more helpful than an ebay sale...

I've bought XL1s and XL2 systems from numerous different sources, including Ebay and never had problems. In fact I bought yet another XL2 off Ebay last week in like-new condition.

The only small hiccup I had was last month when I bought both an XL2 and XL-H1 off a single Ebay seller. He didn't have the items at his location and unless I know the seller I ALWAYS drive to the location and pick up the item if it is expensive (£1,000 upwards) such as a car or camera gear etc then pay in cash. And since I hadn't sent off any money to the dodgy seller there was never any problem.

I never send very large amounts (over $2,000) via Paypal for big items unless I've seen the camera gear in person and checked it over thoroughly; but generally prefer to pay in cash. For smaller items under £1,000 or larger items from reputable Ebay shops that give gaurantees or from private sellers that I've dealt with before, I have no hesitation in paying the full sums of money with Paypal.

Ebay is very safe and a wonderful place to buy products if you just follow simple common sense rules.

As a footnote, the DV private sales section of this website is always worth checking, and it looks like the XL2 system offerd by Les Nagy is selling for a decent price.

I've been buying and selling online since the 80's (through Usenet) and I've been using eBay since the month they started (September 1996.) I've never once been burned. The closest I got was when a guy refused my COD package and I had to eat the $10 UPS charge.

I attribute that to my overly cynical and suspicious nature. I trust no one. If there's even a hint of danger, I leave and move on to the next deal.

Having said that, I'd certainly sell an XL2 on eBay, but if I were buying, I'd wait until one showed up here on DVInfo (like the one Les is offering!)

I forget just how long you need to be a member at DVI, but I noticed you joined in May. You don't have enough "time in" on here yet to see the Classifieds.

Perhaps Les would be so kind as to send you the info via e-mail or PM...

Only active members are allowed access to the classifieds. I'm not sure if there's a post requirement, but I'm pretty sure you have to be a member for 60 days, then you are automatically granted access. I really like that, because I've seen several people get ripped off on other sites by new users who only post things for sale.

Send Les a PM, you'll like his price and what he has.
