Going rate for experienced Final Cut Pro or Avid DV editors?
Can someone tell me what is a going rate for experienced Final Cut Pro or Avid DV editors with their own editing suite?
And I mean for people who do this for a living and actually know what they are doing. I am primarily interested for South Florida area, but any market info. will be helpful. Thanks. |

In my part of the world it really depends on the quality of your reel.

Hi,
It really depends on your market. In Cincinnati a top notch AVID editor could command $100 to $200 an hour depending on equipment, software etc. An FCP editor would get between $75 and $125. Here in West Florida and FCP editor gets $50 to $100 while AVID editors average around $125. There are so many variables you can't really pin it down. Jeff |

Our standard rate is $180 per hour or $1200 per day, editor is Avid experienced but now uses FCP almost exclusively...also extreemly talented in Audio post production, music creation etc...hotel or guest house accomodation and car rental can be arranged at attractive rates for visiting producers ...We are located in sunny Barbados....you go to the beach....we edit!
