We did a two camera shoot of a Choral Festival last Sunday afternoon in a church where six different churches got together and presented a great musical program. This takes place each fall of the year. This festival was recorded the first time on video.
The question is, how do we get licensing clearances to use the music legally. We plan on making VHS tapes and each church will be selling them, 25% of the sale price will be going to each individual church. We don't want to get in trouble with the copyright cops. I have the names of the copyright holders from each of the music directors. Any idea where to go from here? We won't be selling 500 copies I'm reasonably sure. [Could be wrong!!!] For my previous documentaries, I purchased royalty free music when I needed special music. Thanks for any response. Tom Turney Video Productions Bemidji, MN videoent81@yahoo.com
