Script Writer's Guidelines for Corporate Video
I threw these together for a client that is writing their own script for a half-hour corporate video.
We will see how long they last on their own, haha! Or whether I get that pleading phone call.... But they seemed to think that these guidelines could get them jump-started, and I haven't heard back from them, except to get their shoots on the schedule, so it seems like they are putting it together, so far. If these are doing the trick for them, perhaps some of you DVinfo'ers might also find some benefit.... http://redpinestudios.wordpress.com/...rs-guidelines/ |

Thanks for posting that. Rarely did any of our clients go for a 30min corporate, most were around 10mins, 20 at the outside.
I never had a client who wanted to write their own, a couple tried to rewrite ours with varying degrees of success. Usually the finished duration was the crunch point, they overwrote their additons right off the end of the budget and the production timeframe. Cheers. |

Nice job! Let's keep this thread going...
I have something similar in PDF form I'd be happy to share with anyone who wants - just e-mail me since we cannot attach a pdf. - Interesting to see what I call the Audience-Purpose-Message analysis stated so well in Meryem's piece! BTW Meryem, haven't used the housing yet, but got some great turkey shots for a client with the 2X you sold me!

Hi Mike -- glad you're putting some miles on the 2x, nice bit o' glass, that...
I'd like to see what you've put together, if you can send it in an email...you can just shoot it to uwol@comcast.net -- I tried to put together something user-friendly, but it isn't necessarily comprehensive...don't want to overwhelm the clients, they are usually already overwhelmed. To Allan: Our client has 7 different programs that they are trying to feature in their 30-minute video. I thought it was a little long, too, but we are just updating an existing project, so I'm guessing that they would know best, whether it is watched or not, by now. It will be kind of a hefty project. |
