Hourly Project Rate for Video Editing and DVD Authoring?
Hi all, I've been asked to edit video and author a DVD for a corporate client and it's honestly been a bit since I edited. Previously I edited for a very low rate (less than $30/hr) in order to provide some results and add to my portfolio, but I would like to get an idea of what you editors have charged hourly.
Services to be provided: Video Capture / Editing / DVD Menus and Final Authoring Thanks in advance.

What are you using to edit? Doing some market research in our area (not close to the traditional media hubs of NY / LA / Chicago), the average post-production rate was $200 / hr. Most houses were running some flavor of Avid. May have seen a few using FCP.
You should definitely do some research around your area to find out what the going rates are. See how your services compare and try to charge accordingly. |

Thanks
Hi Jon,
I'm using FCP to edit and using DVD Studio Pro 4 to author. Thanks for the tips, I will look into it! Regards, James
