How many of you get script clearance? at DVinfo.net

I'm about to shoot my first feature and I'm wondering how many of you get script clearance. I was able to get written clearance from Apple, Taylor Guitar, Anthym Records (as well as a Mechanical License for a popular Christmas song) to have the products in the film, but I'm wondering if I should take the next step and get script clearance before I shoot. I know that script clearance is different from product clearances, but I'd like everyone's take on it.

I also know this is only important if the film gets interest for distribution (but you never know...).

I'd love to hear everyone's personal opinions, history, etc.

I know the price is small compared to the potential problems that can arise later (a friend of mine is having difficulty selling his film due to lack of clearances; he used A LOT of uncleared products).
