Bang for the buck.
I'm sure someone has posted this before, but I cant seem to find it. I'm looking for a new camera to replace my Minolta DiMage Z10. The switch finder gets stuck every now and then, and I'm noticing the mirror is beginning to slip. Also, the EVF is way to lo-res anyhow... otherwise a great camera.
Prefirbly something with more than an 8x lens, a nice wide apeture range (F2-F11) would be nice, but not nessecary. Slow shutters are amust, manual controls too. Manual focus would be sweeet. Metal tripod mount is a must. I'm not going to deal with another set of stripped threads... Price range? Hopefully Anything under $450. I've been looking at the Fuji S5000 series, 5200 and 5100 - but I'm not sure how the manual focusing system works. Is it through a ring on the lens (like a real lens, SLR) or just another defangled mutton focusing thing? Anybody has words on these? Hey if anyone has a used Rebel or something they want to let go for the sub $400 range, I'm open. But right now, a dSLR seems out of the price range. I'd like to stay with SD/MMC memory, I have a bunch of the cards, but I'm willing to switch if it's nessecary. Super high res isnt a biggie, over 3MP and I'm happy. Thanks All, Dan |

Hmmm, the digi-cams I'm interested are around 3 Grand USD. Hopefully someone will or can suggest something for you.
