I missed this Casio announcement
http://www.imaginginfo.com/article/a...tion=4&id=1659
Looks like it's got lots of beef. Has anyone here bought one or is it not out yet? (10 megs / 1&1/8" CCD---but is it cropped?) |

Interesting. My beef against the Casio line is that their image stabilizer is actually just a high ISO setting, unlike Panasonic's who have a real optical stabilizer.

I don't own one but alot of photographer think the casio z750 brings home the bacon. The iso 50 shots for the z1000 are beautiful - as good or better than a 20d. However the problem begins at higher isos'. We should see a plethoria of 10mp digicams this year but I think , contrary to traditional wisdom, casio is making very nice pocketcameras. Kurth

www.casio.com
i think the z750, which has been replaced by the z850, is still available. The z850 has a video defect. so alot of people are still buying the 750. Go to dpreview , casio forum , and you can learn alot about the casios'. Also there's the panasonic LX1 , 8mp , 16x9 sensor w/wsvideo ( sd )or the fujifilm e900 , 9mp and probably the sharpest to date of the pocket cameras together w/canon s80s'.The canon s80 has xga , 30fps video as an extra. All are about 4 bills. And the next wave of pocket cameras is always just a few months away, unlike waiting for dslr upgrades. I'm waiting for an LX2 w/real hd video @ variable frame rates able to record on 16 gig sd cards. Oops , I just went over to area 51. |
