Old Rebel G lens with digital body

Can the old Rebel G lens fit on the body of the Digital Rebel?

Thanks

If it is an EF lens (I think the whole Rebel line is), then yes.

You could. But why would you want to?

That freebie Rebel G lens is that the very bottom of the EF food chain. I don't think you can even give one away anymore. Putting it on a digital SLR would be doing a serious injustice to the camera.

Try the EF 28-135mm image stabilzed USM lens instead, under $500.

Another vote for the 28-135mm IS USM. I used that on both my Digital Rebel and 10D. I also got great performance out of the Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM ($599).

How does the old Rebel G lens compare to the 18-55mm sub $100 lens on the D. Rebel?

Yet a third vote for the 28-135mm IS.
I bought mine for my 10d and love it (except it isn't wide enough with the crop factor). It completely outperforms the cheap Canon lenses I used to have. I'll never go back. Completely not worth it UNLESS you just don't have the cash.
