Richard Avedon is dead at 81
This has been a made year for photographers as Richard Avedon, noted for his portrait and fashion photography, has died of complications from a cerebral hemorrhage suffered in a fall. The New York Times has an extensive article.
Other photographic legends lost this year include Henri Cartier Bresson, Helmut Newton and Eddie Adams.
