Hasselblad and Imacon merge
Two years ago I emailed mamiya asking when they were going to get into the digital race. I had a 645 super but certainly wasn't going to pay 15000 bucks for a digital back. They replied with a generic digital back answer. Now that Imacon has merged with Hasselblad, medium format digital products ought to be heating up. I think the medium format folks have been asleep for way to long.
8/12/2004 Shriro Sweden, the holding company of Victor Hasselblad AB, and part of the Hong Kong-headquartered Shriro Group, has announced the acquisition of leading international high-end scanner and digital cameraback manufacturer, Imacon. The move will see Imacon and Hasselblad merge to accelerate Hasselblad’s ambitions in the professional digital photographic sector, and creates what the new company believes to be the leading single source supplier for digital photography at the top end of the professional photographic market. |

Indeed, here is the news announcement at DPreview. This can only represent good news for larger-format shooters.
But I wonder where this leaves the Creo Leaf back? Here's a product description at DPreview.
