To the best of my knowledge, only Zeiss and Canon publish MTF data on their 35mm lenses. Not even Nikon will take the plunge. If you want to look at lens ratings try Photodo Go to the products header and you'll find many lenses rated using MTF. Their articles are worth reading also. Good explanations of MTF etc.

I'd just like to add another vote for the amazing 10D. Got mine a few weeks ago after years with my trusty ol' G1. I have the EF28-135 IS USM which is very handy but I'm itching to get a wider lens. The 1.6 mag factor does have its downside. And now, thanks to Don's post, the EF17-40L USM is looking more and more irresistable...

*sigh...I have yet to purchase my 10D. Now would be the perfect time though, I have many shoots coming up and I could really use the quality...Now, if I could only scrounge up about 2k... =(
