$1,699 Olympus E-3 DSLR announced
Although it claims to have the world’s fastest auto focus out of the current cameras, it might have a tough time competing against the Sony A700 and the Nikon D300. The price almost matches the D300 but like one article states, the auto focus, isn’t tested against the D300 and other cameras that aren’t out yet.

Cool! I have the E-500 and it works great for my needs. Mainly weddings but also shoot events, models and portaiture. This camera would make a nice upgrade and I already have f2.8 14-54 and f2.8 50-200 lenses. Can't wait to get one of these with the optional grip.
