Bewildered by all the choices for stabilizers
This year, I wanted to add a little stabilization to my action shots.
One of my primary customers is a Cheer Squad from a local High School. I produce an end-of-year DVD of their sideline cheer activities. Previously I used a shoulder-mounted Video Camera which provided me passable stabilization. This year I am shooting with a Canon VIXIA HFG20. I thought my "style" was run-and-gun, but upon further thought, I plant my self, frame the shot, and shoot about 30 seconds of video at a time. Anyone care to recommend a stabilizer for my situation. One item of concern is that during Basketball games, I sometimes shoot from the baseline, so the rig needs to be small enough that I can be nimble enough to scoot out of the way of a fast break. |

Re: Bewildered by all the choices for stabilizers
How about this Best Budget DSLR Video Shoulder Rig - DSLR Video Shooter.
I use one without all the bolt-on additions which I find unnecessary, preferring to hold the camera rather than the rig. It works well for me both with a DSLR and my HF G30. The only thing I add is my usual QR plate. Dave |

You should look in to the Fotodiox WonderRig Elite shoulder rig, its very comfortable, affordable and sturdy along with being compatible with a wide range of devices.
