Steadicam JR with monitor question
Rookie question:
I'm interested in the JR for a few uses, but one shot I want to try is where the camera circles around the subject. Can this be done with the JR (with practice) and if so, can you even see the monitor while you are doing it? In my mind it seems like it might be hard to see the monitor. Thanks! |

Robert:
Certainly this can be done with the JR! I assume your question relates to a JR without monitor, even though the title suggests otherwise, as a JR with monitor is a no-brainer--you'll be able to see the image at all times. If you are relying on a flip-out screen, you will have a much easier time if you can circle the couple counter-clockwise. This puts the rig in front of you with the camera facing to the left, which allow you a good view of the screen. If you must go clockwise, your best bet is to shoot in the same configuration but walk backwards.
