Does anyone know how much the new Steadicam Flyer rig is going to be?

Some details at:
www.steadicam.com

Thanks

" The Flyer arm is engineered for affordable mass-production but it’s tough and capable, with an astonishing, ballbearing smooth, thirty-inch, top-to-bottom range of travel. For the first time, operators of light rigs can enjoy the same feel and tool-free performance as our top $18,000 arm "

It suggests it will be cheaper. My guess would be $7,500 - $10,000
But that's just a "feeling".

Their mini already starts at $5,500. This looks better than the mini.

I wonder if it's replacing the mini? Or just being the next model up...if it's more than the mini that's already to much for me...I think I'd stick to the magiqcam.

The magiqcam is without a doubt a goud product, but the flyer seem to be very promising. I think it will be replacing the mini.

on the steadicam forum they said the FLYER is going to be about 6K. Does anyone know when it will be released to the public for purchase? Thanks.

Just talked to Steadicam and they said that the FLYER will sell for about 6,400 and will only be available at that price until the end of June.

They are on sale now and shipped in priority of orders.

Anyone thinking of getting one?

If you'd like to see a great stabilizer at an affordable price, check out basson in Brazil. The Gullwing 500 might fit your needs at half the price. Here's the link:

Flyer listed with B&H

I just saw the new Flyer rig listed at B&H but is not in stock. As of this post, the list price is about 6500.00 and B&H's price is 6100.00.

The weight range listed is 4 - 15 pounds

This page of pictures I took at the recent Cinegear show includes a couple of the Flyer, including a close-up of the arm. Thought it might be of interest to those following this thread.
