HS Stablizer Worky-Worky?

Having seen Charles P.'s stablizer footage, and having experienced the limtations of tripod and handheld work, I'm really tempted to drop the $$ on a handheld stabilzer for my little PV-DV852. Something like a Steadicam JR, Glidecam 2000, Hollywood Lite LS-1, Flowpod, or Sachtler Artemis DV, etc.

Questions...

Is there anyone out there that has one of these products and loves it? Which product do you love (hate)? Are you getting really smooth camera movements you couldn't get otherwise? Or, is a handheld stablizer just a tease, making you realize that the only way to get that fluid camera movement is with a full body-mount set-up and a substantial sized camera?

Thanks...

Hi Dan, I have a Steady Cam JR and love it. I think I got it 10 to 15 yrs. ago and cant imagine not having it. I have been using a Canon A1 Digital and it worked great! Now my canon is in need of repair and I am trying to decide between a xl1s, pd 170 and dvx100a. The pd is the only one that is light enough to fly on there as the JR's weight rating goes to 4lbs. I put a pd150 on there the other day and even though it would work, the weight is enough that I couldnt imagine holding for very long (weddings, snow skiing etc. ) So even though I would like to replace my camera with one of those I may be in the market for a body mount, only because of weight. I have used a gl1 and that was a good weight for all day use. If your pv is close in weight I think @ 2.5 lbs you would love it. The stable footage you are able to get is awesom.
