Glidecam HD4000 & Monitor question

Okay, I have been looking and looking but can't seem to figure it out. There are 2 different monitors for the glidecam. The L4-PRO and L7-PRO. Now I know, you can pretty much use any monitor and rig it up to work. But why is it saying the L4-PRO & L7-PRO is for the glidecam? I was looking at Ikan V8000W or Ikan V9200. Would that work? I guess it is mainly all about the screw thread and "ball/swivel" mounting system.

Info from their site.

Rick,

We prototyped a couple of Nebtek monitors because of their complete viewability in full sunlight. They have the standard 1/4x20 thread size.
Where there's a will there's a way!

I guess I am just trying to figure out why only certain monitors will work per say? If I wanted to (which I don't), I could get a portable DVD player strapped onto it. Okay that is a little much but do you know what I am saying? Is 1/4x20 the standard size? For what the glidecam base? Monitor? I am just trying to learn more about this all before I buy. Thanks for your reply!

I also am in the market for a monitor to mount to a Glidecam 4000 (ok, really to a Glidecam knockoff the Flycam 5000 right now).

Can some of you Glidecam owers out there please respond with what monitor you are using and specifically what hardware you used to hook it to your sled?

I am looking at the Manhatten 8.9" HD monitors although that is a little bigger / heavier than I wanted and also the Ikan monitors. I think both of those have mounting holes on the top, bottom, and both sides so I assume somebody somewhere sells hardware to mount them?

Hello,

Which Nebtek Monitor is fully recommended when it comes down to viewability in direct sunlight?

Or any other Monitor for that matter?

Thanks,

phil
