Yes, thanks for that.... Jack - what you say is entirely true.
The 'travel' case promotion has been removed and now all Merlin's have metal gimbles.

SO I will get it from b&h then - with metal gimble - withOUT 'travel' case.

Thanks.

looking forward to my merlin 'learning curve'

Thanks Jack & Charles for your prompt reply. I look forward to purchasing the metal even though I've had the Signature series for about a month or so. Now if Tiffen will design the bolt with a flathead screwdriver in mind...

Nevermind, just found the replacement mounting screw for $ 10.

Try to buy online and have it shipped here. I managed to save a couples hundreds of Singapore dollars by doing that. Don't forgot if you buy in Singapore you will have to pay for GST. :)

If it has this signature, then it's the older version: http://funahara.com/blog/media/gbrown.jpg

Hi Mikko
Got my metal gimbal and arm yesterday - not east to tell the difference between the metal and plastic versions by looking or am I missing something... The metal one seems much more free and spins much more smoothly...
Already got backache from the vest/arm but that's another story that you'll know all about!!!
