Portable ways to mount iPhone in a car?
Hello,
OT, I know, but...I'm frequently driving rental cars and am looking for a lightweight tool for mounting iPhone in cars. I tried using a GorillaPod around the rear-view mirror but its legs get tangled. I also tried an in-vent device but these don't work in all cars. Does anyone have ideas - maybe from the professional video world! - on portable ways to mount iPhone in a car so it's highly visible but not blocking? Bonus points if it helps with video work. Thank you!! Ben Last edited by Ben Kazez; October 19th, 2023 at 02:45 PM. |

Most modern rental cars have a touch screen built into the dash which will interface with your phone for phone calls and navigation so there is no need to mount your phone so you can see it.

I'm renting low-budget cars. :) I found this rearview mirror mount [https://www.vantrue.net/Goods/detail/gid/58.html] but it doesn't seem flexible enough to accommodate all rearview mirrors.

We use suction cup mounts, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search/BI/2855/KBID/3801 then add an iPhone mount to it. Lots to choose from in both categories.
