LED camera light swivel mount
I misplaced the swivel mount for my LEDGo CN-B150 camera. This type of swivel mount system is used in other on-camera lights also. The mount has male (for lack of a better term) cold shoe connectors on each end, as opposed to a male on one end and a female on the other, as is the common configuration. The lights have slots (female?) where the cold shoe mounts (male?) would fit.
I'm trying to find a replacement, and the manufacturer is not coming through. There is a website with a Singapore domain name that apparently sells it but it doesn't look that legit (http://www.reddotphoto.com.sg/). I assumed there would be plenty available on eBay, as the system is used by many other manufacturers. But I guess I'm not using the correct key words. Any suggestions on a search string that would find one of these mounts? Or, any ideas where to find a similar mount? Last edited by Andrew Taylor; June 11th, 2016 at 04:28 AM. |

Obscure parts from overseas, I'd call Taky first:

Re: LED camera light swivel mount
I'll see what they say. There is a vendor at DHGate selling them for $85 (just the bracket, not the whole light), which is ridiculous:
http://www.dhgate.com/product/light-...241782729.html The Aputure line of on-camera LED lights uses a similar system, so I may contact them too: http://www.aputure.com/blog/2014/09/...d-light/123-3/ |

Re: LED camera light swivel mount
You should be able to retrofit by purchasing two of these swivel mounts, removing the bottom from one and using it on the top of the 2nd one. Universal Flash Shoe Holder Swivel Light Mount Stand Bracket D | eBay

Re: LED camera light swivel mount
Interesting concept that universal shoe. I may have to use that if nothing else works out.
Here's a similar concept, although without the swivel feature: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/171110149665 Aputure uses a similar solution with a small piece that converts a thread into a hot shoe connector. |

Re: LED camera light swivel mount
Thank you for all the suggestions. To wrap up this thread, here's the outcome:
- RedDotPhot in Singapore, who sells the specific LEDgo piece, did not have an eBay account. Their shipping was almost 4 times the value of the item. They promised to look into cheaper postage, but never got back to me. - Aputure provided links to their official AliExpress store, both for a similar bracket: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...927775516.html ...and for this interesting adaptor, that converts a 1/4" thread into a "male" hot shoe connector: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...630669388.html - LEDgo eventually got back to me and they provided a free replacement for the bracket. Kudos to them. |
