budget motion control head (for time-lapse and more!)
Hey all, new to the community and thought I'd share one of my little secrets... I've been working with Meade telescope mounts for a while now to achieve fluid pans in time-lapse. I'm also working on software to script drive the head (via laptop) and have found that it does have some application potential in real time as well ( teaser )
It's really inexpensive and fun to use. I've used it primarily for a DSLR but people are starting to see the potential for video as well... here is a guy that made a nice robust bracket and says that it works fine with a HVX!! |

Any way this could be modified to be used as a remote head on a crane? I'm thinking of building a crane, but would like to have a remote controlled head.
