Aputure Amaran Tri-8s

Aputure Amaran Tri-8s

This is going to be added to my Single Person Crew light kit. I'm already using a 627 but it's a bit fragile .
A light durable light, smaller than a 1x1 and apparently very bright.

Eagerly awaiting this one, it will accompany two of the Aputure LS 1S panels for my travel kit. Aputure is killing it. great lights!

Erik Naso, who has some kind of connection with Aputure, at least as a reviewer, says probably shipping in December. Hope that holds, I need one of these in my kit.

Looking forward to Erik Naso's review. The size, portability, brightness and, now apparently sturdier build than the 672 all make this a potentially great single person crew light.

Craig, just took delivery of two LS 1S, looking forward to the release of this light, hopefully soon! It's the missing link for my travel kit, perfect as a hair, rim or BG light.

Re: Aputure Amaran Tri-8s

Heck I'll be using it as a key light most of the time. I shoot in some very tight locations (small offices) and have to travel light (often on public transportation given local parking situations).

LS1 is a killer light but, for me, they present the same issue other 1x1 type lights would give me (size, weight).

I'm also looking forward to their small C20 fresnel type lights which will become my kicker/hair lights.

Wow, here we are in Spring of 2017 and no Tri 8. Wonder what happened? Aputure obviously put a big push on the COB 120D but what about the Tri 8?

Re: Aputure Amaran Tri-8s

They've been pushed back but they are happening.
I believe the LS-C20 is next (sort of a mini 120) and within the next couple of weeks.
I suspect the Tri-8s may have an appearance at NAB but not sure if they'll be ready yet. Last I heard was May release but that was stated in January I think so it might be later now.
