Pix 240 and Canon 7D
has anyone used these two together successfully ?

The 7d crops the image to the center of the screen. Once you remove the black bars from the frame what you are left with is a SD image.
Technically the PIX can record the 7d. The image it records due to how Canon outputs its HDMI signal makes the recording worse than the recording from the camera itself.
