PIX240 Endurance

This was a test of recording capacity of a PIX240. With two new Sony 770 (4200mAh) batteries and a Samsung 470 series 256 gig SSD. Recorded a HMC150 HDMI to the Avid DNxHD 145 codec, with two live 48V mikes. Found 3.6 hours of capacity in the SSD, but only 2 hours of battery runtime.

Re: PIX240 Endurance

The Pix consumes 28 watts. One way to conserve battery is turn off the display when you don't need it. I am powering mine via D tap from either Anton Bauer or Switronix battery for EX.

Re: PIX240 Endurance

I've had similar results with non-Sony NP-F970 equivalent - about an hr recording per battery. I will probably default to using my Anton Bauers, and just use the smaller batteries as back-up most of the time...

Re: PIX240 Endurance

I got a pair of Pearstone 7200 mAh batteries, and now have 3.5 hours of run time.
