Expanded Focus could move up, down & side to side

While visiting the Sony booth at NAB, I discovered it is possible to write code, to have the Expanded Focus move up, down and side to side.

It's up to us, the end users to let Sony know we need this feature now... and it's worth allocating the funds to write the firmware.

If we don't... we won't see it in version 3, if at all.

Bill,
I really hope that Sony does include it in next firmware. It's a real pita without. I had been shooting with my fs100 for a few years and hate not being able to expand without tilting the camera up or down.

Well I would say you should try and get the message you want this feature to Juan Martinez at Sony. I believe he is the "proud father " of this product and has been hearing all sorts of suggestions from users and some of them have been implemented. When the camera first came out it only had two channels of audio input capability despite the Codecs having four channel capability. When I and others pointed that out he wasn't sure it was possible and didn't promise that the camera would get this upgrade. Low and behold the new version of the camera has 4 channel capability in almost exactly the way I and others suggested it. So it is worth a try.

I met Juan Martinez at NAB, and it was he who confirmed it was possible.
He understands our need...
