No biggie. The PMW-200, basically the EX1R with 422 50Mbps recording capability.

Yep, like an EX1R but with 422 recording, lower noise, wifi remote control with iPad, new LCD with incredible viewing angle, new lens servo, 4 channels of audio, Hypergammas, Genlock, timecode in and out, quick start mode, XQD card support, so no, nothing much really.

Looks like it will be about £900 more than an EX1R at launch.

Okay... I'm impressed. My question: it records 4 channels of audio. 2 XLRs. The other sources are....???

The built-in stereo microphone, or you can send the XLR inputs to any combination of channels 1, 2, 3, & 4.
I've been shooting with four channels on my F800 for a couple of years and it is great to always have the camera mic being recorded no matter what I'm feeding to the XLRs. Or, I can use 3 & 4 (which always have auto-gain control) as insurance against over driving 1 & 2 when I feed them the same source.

Thanks Doug... when I was shooting news with BetaSX cameras, the channels 3&4 (on camera mic and wireless drop in, both on auto) saved us on a handful of occasions...

Re: The Next Big Thing Is Coming... 7.26.2012
No, it's definitely a better image than the EX1R, not just less noise but better skin tone reproduction with less of the muddy look that the EX's can sometimes exhibit on mid tones. The improved image processing makes quite a difference, add 4:2:2 into the equation and you also get better colour fidelity. Several small incremental improvements than when combined together create a more pleasing image.

Alister, did you notice any improvement on the IR issue?

Re: The Next Big Thing Is Coming... 7.26.2012
Wasn't the IR issue fixed in the EX1R?
