I have been away this week so haven't been able to sort this out.
But first - we recorded line in Second - the sound recordists knew what they were doing - levels were set correctly. If trim has no bearing on Line in - then it is not the problem. I realise all is speculation until I get to proper test with a mixer. |

Well let us know what you find out. Sounds like operator error to all of us , but maybe we'll all learn something.
Were the recordists monitoring sound from the camera? |

Yes the recordists were monitoring sound from camera. Both picked up problem on first shot of the day. Levels were set with tone.
