Firmware v 1.2 for PMW-F3 is now available
Fresh off the CineAlta twitter feed, the freshly minted version 1.2 firmware for the Sony PMW-F3 is now available from here...

Only noticed a couple of things so far with V1.2 (as I'm not very proficient with S-Log.) Powering up takes a little longer but the looping scroll function is very welcome.

EI = electronic indexing is only enabled when S-Log is running and Preset whites (from what I see they work with S-Log again) but the other upgrades apply even without S-Log. These include:
3D Link Power zoom lens Reading ARRI lens data Offset adjustment for preset white (R/B channels) for preset white (3200k) - I have no idea what that means yet. Any comments? On/Off of the Rec2 indication *Menu scrolling improved *Monitor LUT data can be added to the clip for storage *The Histogram is improved. * These are the biggies for everyone IMO. |

The last time I did a firmware upgrade it caused me some pretty major headaches with my Hoodman SxS adapters no longer working. Can someone confirm that I won't need to send my SxS adapters back to Hoodman again.
It was a major headache to deal with this last time. |

I don't know about the Hoodman, but the MxR adapters work just fine with the new firmware. Of course they worked vine with v1.1 too.

Hoodman works OK. Boot time for the camera has gone from 5 to 11 seconds... no big deal.
