Alternative to using s-log
Perhaps the boffins will shoot me down in flames, but Red Giant's, Magic Bullet Mojo 1.2 has some very impressive presets for Final Cut Pro, Premiere (etc) which can replicate some of those nice defining lines created with s-log, particularly when it comes to skin colour. I took advantage of a special deal (half price for Mojo.) Since it was so cheap compared with the all other Magic Bullet products, it seemed like a good opportunity to try it out. It's not s-log but it's not bad either!

Re: Alternative to using s-log
Nope, it's nothing like S-Log, nor does it have any relationship to S-Log. S-Log is a way to obtain a greater dynamic range and better data allocation across the image. The other is an edit plugin which is in no way a replacement for S-Log and it won't provide the benefits that S-Log brings.
