HD SDI out problem?
Yesterday, I was shooting and I noticed something odd. I had my 8" Panasonic field monitor connected to the HD SDI output of the PMW F3. The camera's character overlay was on, so I was seeing all of the viewfinder info on the monitor. When I went into the menu and switched it off, I could still see the outlines of the text on the picture. It was faint, but it was still there. Uh-oh.
I wasn't recording the output (no way to do that until the elves at AJA release the magical Mini from their caves of mystery...) Just wondering if anyone else has seen this. I didn't have time to mess with it yesterday--hope to do that today. |

Re: HD SDI out problem?
That sounds an issue of the monitor - ie, the monitor pixels aren't fully refreshed, and the overlay is partially (and hopefully temporarily) burnt in, similar to how displays permanently burn in if you let them display a bright static image for too long.
Did you note whether the faint version camera overlay responded to and accurately reflected camera change states? Did the timecode in the top right corner continue to increase?

Re: HD SDI out problem?
I'll see if I can duplicate the problem later this week, when I have some time.
