Z90 Multiterminal Port?
Any idea if this would work? I'm looking to trigger recording with a motion sensor.

Re: Z90 Multiterminal Port?
Interesting I don't know.
I know with the X70 that the Multi-Terminal port carried the LANC control protocol whereby you could stop/start record from a conventional LANC controller if you had the adapter cables to take you from 2.5mm mini-jack to the Multi-Terminal port. On that basis I would imagine the Z90 would behave the same way unless they killed the LANC protocol on that port seeing as the Z90 now runs a proper 2.5mm LANC port. The Pluto Trigger you linked to sounds like it would do the stop/start okay even though the unit seems to be aimed more at still camera functions than video. Interested if you find out more! Re: Z90 Multiterminal Port?
The Pluto Trigger does not work with the Z90.

Re: Z90 Multiterminal Port?
But the good news is that I was able to repurpose a LANC trigger cable from my Kessler CineDrive system. It seems to work perfectly with the Pluto to start/stop recording on my Z90.

Re: Z90 Multiterminal Port?
The official specs from Sony say the multi-terminal port on the Z90 supports remote control, but I can only get it to act as a USB mass storage device. The LANC port and the little IR remote control look like the only way to do any kind of remote control. Oh yeah, there is the lame smart phone app.
