int'l shooters: any docs needed re bringing gear into Switzerland, South Africa?

Hi there,
I'm going to Switzerland and South Africa next month to shoot interviews and b-roll, and I'm wondering if I need to have any documents organized ahead of time—I'm not talking about my passport or international driver's license—I'm talking more specifically about anything I might need for my gear (PXW200, tripod, a small lighting kit). I intend to carry-on my camera (with cards, charger, extra batteries), and check the rest.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Malcolm
P.S. I've done a bit of googling, and all I've been able to come up with so far is that if you're bringing in a camera "you should declare [it] in the Customs red channel after arriving in South Africa".
