I am DITCHING my X180
Just placed an order with B&H for a new X200.
I have HAD IT with the damn X180 lens. It has so many unreconcilable optomechanical issues. Is optomechanical a word? Anyone want to buy a 2 month old X180? :) Paul |

Re: I am DITCHING my X180
I had a brief check of the pxw-x180 and the demo x180 I have did seem to loose focus a little bit, but this was in a half-lit 40 foot hallway and not under the more extreme lighting conditions you're often working in.
I hope you will enjoy the better low light performance, lighter camera and easier (for me at least) to reach focus mag button. No peaking during focus mag and it returns to normal after 5 secs! Also be aware that you cannot use wifi and run1080p50/60. It's either one or the other! Sony finally released the updated manual for the PXW-X200 on the new firmware 1.20 as well. |

Re: I am DITCHING my X180
The loss of WiFi in 1080p50/60 will only be a irritation if it also means no 4G modem connection available. I was hoping to shoot 1080p60 and crop in for my 720p60 stuff to make up for the short zoom, but I feed live whenever my camera is powered on, so that would suck.
Really looking forward to the better low light, the ability to actually use the menu system while shooting, that direct menu things sounds cool.......less weight, quick power up.....I feel giddy. :-D Paul |
